Dems cave on offshore drilling.

The Democrats are letting the offshore drilling ban that has been in place for twenty-five years expire. "If true, this capitulation by Democrats following months of Republican pressure is a big victory for Americans struggling with record gasoline prices," said House GOP leader John Boehner of Ohio. The Democrats tried to work out a partial appeal, but President Bush had promised a veto.

The U.S. Interior Department says there is an estimated 18 billions barrels of oil off the intercontiential shelf.

Seriously is there anything the Democrats in the Congress will stand for. Just from a political point of view it's kinda embarrassing when you keep getting your butt kicked by a President with a 30% approval rating.

Just to be clear the democrats are betting Obama will win this election. If he does we will not have drilling off our coastline. However if their gamble backfires and McCain becomes President. Let the drilling begin Jan 20, 2009.
